Hogryder is right. They'll deal when the next model year starts pressing on them.
I got my 99 for around $3800 (taxes, tags, turn key-out-the-door), and I didn't really bargain that hard. List was around $4100. Also got a GREAT deal on financing, and no dealer set-up, delivery charges, etc....
I bought it in October, the 2000 models were in crates out back (at around the same list price, and the dealer wasn't going to come down at all). I'm guessing that if you wait until it starts to cool down, you could go around $3750. Don't forget that their may be promotions and such, or the dealer might be willing to give you a deal on some accessories if purchased concurrently....
BTW, don't expect too much from a dealer, at the prices we're talking about, he doesn't have a whole lot of room to play around (if you were selling something for $4k, how much could you give up in the bargaining process?).
